AFIM - Who we are
We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization formed by experienced video game developers and former interactive entertainment executives to provide parents with the information, tools and resources they need to guide and protect their families in the use and enjoyment of video games, interactive entertainment and the Internet.
What is at stake?
What our children are exposed to in their formative pre-teen and teen years has long-term and lasting effects on who they will become as adults. The body of research continues to mount documenting the harmful effects that playing inappropriate, graphically violent and sexually explicit video games is having on children and teens. A majority of parents say they are now more concerned with the impact of video games on their children than they are with the impact of sex, alcohol or drugs.
